Zerply: The simple LinkedIn

Have a look at Zerply. Yes, its another social network pegged around professionals. But its different in two ways:

1. Simplicity: It takes away complex bells-and-whistles that clutter up LinkedIn. Gone are the “apps” for Slideshare, Events, Trips, Blog feeds, etc.
2. Web Look-n-feel: The 3 themes on Zerply are very “Web Now”, clean and tight. They are designed by @elliotjaystocks, @rogie and @mikekus

It’s refreshing to see such a simple and effective approach to professional networking. You can read more about Zerply (or follow cofounders @ckarltorp and @jakobs) to get a feel for the company culture.

I’m just wondering how Zerply plans to make money. If they start advertising, it’ll cram their style. They could go for subscription-based. Or maybe their exit strategy is to be bought-off by a larger player.
