How Bell-Labs arranged the numbers on the phone
This is a gem of a video from Computerphile that describes how phone buttons got arranged they way they are now.
The video features Dr Sarah Wiseman (@oopsohno) who goes through numerous design patterns that were first suggested by Bell-Labs in the 1950s.
Notice the various designs from sequential layout, to bowling alley, to speedometer and of course the telephone layout. If you find these type of videos useful, then follow @computer_phile.
