Adwords workload calculator

Do you know the time needed to manage a successful Adwords account? This question is important, especially if you allocate manpower inside your marketing team. Or if you’re considering outsourcing Adwords , then how much you save in manpower can help run a ‘santiy check’ on the agency fees.

The calculator below helps you find out your monthly adwords work-load by taking into account how many ads you run, how many keywords you manage and the competitive nature of your market.

How workload is calculated

This is not an exact science, and based on various approximations. So take this workload number with a grain of salt. Also remember, if your marketing team is new to Adwords, expect a bit of a learning curve. If you sell products online, you can tightly integrate the value of your sales towards how much you spend. This means more tweaking and better ROI. It also means more manpower spent on such efforts.

I usually need more time for new accounts than older ones. Also, some products that are very similar to other products I handle require less time too.

This is a nice calculator to showcase why you shouldn’t be doing Adwords in-house. No matter how many man-hours your company spends, its hours spent at doing what you guys are good at… your own core competency. So my answer to the question “How much time should I spend managing adwords?”…. NONE! Outsource that to the experts so that you focus on making more money doing what you are good at.

This is a good start, thank you. I never know how much I can spend on Adwords. Sometimes there is so much time you can spend in tweaking, with just fraction better results. My rule is to set up the adwords and then when I’ve time at the end of the week to spend fine tuning it.
